The joy is in the details

It’s the little things that brings me joy. Like the barista asking if I wanted a takeaway  cup or an oversized ceramic mug for my drink. No one had asked me which I would prefer before. Her question got my attention.

This was not the “ordinary run of the mill just going through the motions so I can hurry and ring up your order kind of transaction”. We were having a moment.

She was the real MVP— she elevated my experience, and I appreciated being asked my preference.

It got me to thinking about the little details. It’s the details that add a little za-za-zing!

It does requires a little more effort—paying attention, learning and observing, filing that information away, and being intentional about putting that intel into practice.

It will be so worth it.

If you do it right.

No fanfare needed. No pats on the back. No need to announce what you are doing.

The same skills used on the job to learn a client’s needs and how best to serve them could pay huge dividends in your most intimate relationship.

Thoughtfulness is the secret ingredient that adds graciousness to every interaction.

Ladies, it shows you value him. His preferences are of interest to you. His happiness matters to you.

Men, it will make your lady feel special.

The little details are the seasoning that add flavor to a relationship. If done well and often, you will have your special someone feeling delicious and oh so appreciated.

Delightful is how I want my man to think of me. I want to be his delight. So much so he’s ready to sop me like a biscuit to get every tasty bit of gravy off a plate. Because the way I make him feel is just that good.

Delight your beloved and keep them coming back for more of you.

What about you?

Do you take time to notice the little details?

“Enjoy the wife you married as a young man! Lovely as an angel, beautiful as a rose— don’t ever quit taking delight in her body. Never take her love for granted!”
